Bonnie loves to fetch and pick things up in her mouth. When I realized how much she liked it, I decided to develop that talent into tricks and behaviors that are challenging for her and fun for me. If you want your dog to pick up things, start by teaching the Touch command. Then, once your dog can confidently touch items, you can take a look at the video called 'Carry a Bucket' for ideas on getting your dog to pick up an item. Good luck and have fun! Remember that not all dogs learn at the same pace. Bonnie learns very quickly. Your dog may learn faster or slower. Just be patient and practice as much as you can, and for short time periods.
