Here is this month's question:

If your dog could talk, what would he thank you for?

Turkey! Happy Thanksgiving

red paw Myra, my dog should be thankful to us as we brought her in such
a good family, we love her too much, and treat her gently so next year
when we keep a party for her she'll be so thankful for it all
.
Maysha, age 11, Noida Up , India

red paw My dog, Sissy, is thankful for everything she has: she has a HUGE bed
all to herself and when my family and I eat our meals she gets her
even share. If it wasn't for me, Sissy would not be alive right now,
because when I first saw her she was halfway starved to death.
I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR HAVING SUCH A GREAT FRIEND!!!
Miranda, age 13

red paw I think that my dog, Sugar, is thankful for all of the times that we
sat down together and just felt calm and happy. And all the times
that I just sat there and petted her. By the way, she is an
Anatolian Shepherd.
Cissy, age 15, Kentucky USA

red paw My dog, Rocko (German Shepherd), is thankful for us keeping him
healthy all these years. My dog is turning 17 today! It's crazy, because
he is still very energetic and playful. It's a joy to have him living in our
house still, he is my best friend.
Maria, age 15, New York USA

red paw My dog, Bruiser, is a Lhasa Apso/Terrier that weighs ten
pounds but still is very fierce. He is thankful for me adopting
him right before they were going to put him down. Without me,
he would not exist. But I'm very thankful, too, for him because
he makes me smile everyday.
Lauren, age 13, California USA

red paw I think my dog will be thankful for having a life with a family
because if she did not have a family, then she would be not
so smart of a dog. And she would never get love and what
we give her. My dog did have another family but they gave
her away for some reason. And that is what my dog is
thankful for.
Sarah, age 10, Missouri USA

red pawMy dogs are 2 years old. They are thankful for their loving
family. We play with them. Loving your pet is hard work.
Every thing that we do for them is hard.

red pawWe have a male blue cattle and a bittser. The cattle dog is
the biggest wimp you will ever come across. When we come
home from shopping or even if we are out for 2 minutes
he says, "Thank God you're home. Don't do that again."
It is so cute! We talk back to him, sometimes he whines
and says not to chat back.
Wendy, age 17, Queensland

red pawMy dogs are thankful for great loving owners, a shelter,
getting fed everyday, and being two wonderful dogs
that keep me warm and to cuddle
. Corey, age 10, Eastbourne

red pawI got my puppy from an animal pound and it was
first come first serve so if we didn't take him, he was
going to be put to sleep or end up with someone that
wouldn't take care of him. So my dad woke up at 6:00
in the morning to go get him. We got him and he's
just the best dog. He'll do anything for us and I think
that's because we rescued him from the pound. I think
he would say that he is thankful for my family for
rescuing him and I would say I'm thankful for him
for being my best friend in the whole world!!!!!
F.N.D., USA

red paw When I come home from school, I take my dogs for
an hour walk at the new forest everyday. When I come
back home, I make sure they drink another water and
then I have a little rough play with them. They love it
and then I feed them at 6:00 and then I have a little cuddle
with them and then go to bed!
Joshua, age 10, Southampton

red paw My dog, Minnie, is grateful for all the toys that I give to her.
She is grateful for the treats I give her. I remember not to give
her too many treats, because that will make her overweight
and that won't be healthy for a 3 year dog. She would say
''Thank you for all you have done for me. I really appreciate it.''
So that is what Minnie would be grateful for and what she
would say.
Madison, age 13, Colorado USA

red paw My baby puppy LUCKY is thankful for having lots of love
everyday. Every time we bring him in the house, everyone
just surrounds him with love and kisses and hugs. He is also
thankful for having a home. There were lots of puppies to be
given away and we chose him. He sure is Lucky and thankful!

Erika, age 16, Wisconsin USA

red paw I think that my dog, Rocky, is thankful for having a
great place to live. We rescued Rocky when a purebred
Golden Retriever had puppies with a collie. The owner
of the Golden Retriever didn't want anything to do with
the puppies because they weren't purebred, so he
threw them out on the street.

Then our local rescue place found them and took them in
and someone I knew told my family about the puppy she
had in foster care. We went over to her house that night
and picked up Rocky right then and took him home with us.
Now he has a family that loves him very much and a great
home to live in!
Taylor, age 13, Ohio USA

red paw I think my dogs, Boo, Isabelle, and Snoopy would most
likely be thankful for different things. Boo would be thankful
for food, he is very fat because he eats too much. My dog
Isabelle is thankful for a nice warm place to curl up in any time
she wants, because she just likes to lay down. My dog, Snoopy,
is thankful for hugs and kisses, and us because we rescued him
off the street. He is a Beagle/Basset hound. Boo is a purebred
Parson Jack Russell Terrier. Isabelle is a Poodle/Terrier.

Roxanna, age 10, Texas USA

I think my dog would thank me for the love I give
her when she's good. I usually give her a doggy treat
like a Milk Bone when she is good and she always likes it.
But I put some thinking into it which she might like.
I usually have her do things like sit, jump, stand, walk, etc.
And now she does it even when I do not have a treat
for her, which is pretty amazing. She actually learned
something from eating something she really liked!!
I suggest that kids that have pets should do that with
them, since the dogs like what they are getting!!

Question Marks

Something You Can Do!

Did you have fun reading the answers to the question? You can answer the question about your dog, too. Get some paper, sit down, and write your answer.

Write your answer to the question and share it with your parents.
Ask your friends or your teacher to answer the question.
Put your answer on the refrigerator or on the wall of your bedroom.
Call your grandparents on the phone and read it your answer to them.
Draw a picture that shows the answer to the question.

Here's one more activity for you!

Make a booklet with two parts: one part can tell what your dog is thankful for and the other part can tell what you are thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulate yourself for spending some time thinking about your dog!
