For a long time, now, I've been teaching Bonnie to put away those little plastic bones from a large dog puzzle. Well, finally she has learned how to do it. It has taken a long time to teach Bonnie. I have been working on this for many months. Bonnie already knew how to pick things up with her mouth. I started teaching her to put the pieces away by holding the bowl under her chin and having her drop the item into the bowl. She didn't understand what she was doing at first, but we kept practicing until she connected putting the bone into the bowl with praise and treats. Even though I trained Bonnie to do this, I still find it quite amazing. |
