You can't buy Lassie...

After seeing the movie, Lassie, you might want to run out and buy a dog just like her. Unfortunately, you can't.

All puppies, even Lassie, start out the same. They are not trained. They are not housebroken. They chew things they're not supposed to.

Dogs like Lassie are very special. They have had hours and hours of training everyday. They have someone who spends all day with them, everyday.

Collies are not for everyone. They require brushing almost everyday, they require obedience training, and they need to live in the house to be good housepets. Collies shed. And they like to bark, and sometimes chase things.

Collie make good pets. But many other dogs make great pets, too. It's important that you do some research before you get a dog. Make sure you are choosing a dog that will fit into your family's lifestyle, and you can have a great dog, too.

Collies are not the best dog for everyone. Please keep this in mind when you see the world's most famous dog in the new movie, Lassie.
