Dog BooksNew!Shelby, age 10, New Hampshire USA

I loved this book so much that when I get a dog, I am going to name it Kitty. I like this book because I love dogs, especially pups. I also like country books. One of my favorite parts was when Kitty had a hot pepper in his mouth and did a funny little dance!

Dog BooksNew!Hannah, age 9, Idaho USA

I thought it was an excellent book and I liked the funny parts and I thought it was sad at the sad parts and I also liked the book because it has different types of emotions like: sad, happy, it's a mystery, and funny.

I hope that someday I will be able to read another one of his books and I hope I will enjoy it because Bill Wallace is a great writer and his books are amazing and a Dog Called Kitty was the first Bill Wallace book I have read and I thought it was a good book for being the first one I have read.

I hope that every book that I read will be as good as a Bill Wallace books. I hope that in the future I will be able to read another Bill Wallace book. I think that Bill Wallace is one of my favorite writers. He is a great children's story book writer.

Dog BooksNew!Maggie, age 9, Ohio USA

I think this book was awesome! Bill Wallace is a great author. I read one of his books and now I want to read all of them. ''A Dog Called Kitty'' is great, it shows don't go up to an unfamiliar dog, but you should not be afraid of them. I thought the best parts were when Kitty escaped from the pen and when he did not eat the meat. If Bill Wallace ever sees this message this is to him: ''Bill you write VERY good books. You and I have a lot in common I love dogs and like a good book. You write the books so good sometimes I have to look away from the page.''

Dog BooksNew!Maya, age 14, Delaware USA

Oh my goodness did I! I loved every single minute of it. I read it to my grandmother while we drove in the car. It gave us bonding time and the best part was when he first fed Kitty in the barn, he was so afraid. I'm surprised he didn't just run away. The ONLY part I hated was when they gave him those hot peppers but I guess it was for his own good..... Right?

Dog BooksNew! Emily, age 8, Idaho USA

I liked it because Bill Wallace makes his books interesting. My favorite part is when Ricky put in the peppers. Also Bill Wallace is a good writer. He makes funny parts. Like this kitty ate the meat and started running all over the yard!

Dog BooksNew! Vincent, Idaho USA

I liked it when the German Shepherds attacked Kitty. I thought it was sad when the pipes fell on him and crushed him and killed him. When I came home, I cried for a long time. But I liked the book A Dog Called Kitty. I hope you make more books Bill Wallace!

Dog BooksNew! Parker, age 9, Idaho USA

I really liked this book. It's one of the best books I have ever read and it was really sad. It made me cry a ton. I feel sorry for Ricky.

Dog BooksNew! Jaice, age 9, Idaho USA

I like A Dog Called Kitty because Kitty almost died and then he, well you'll have to read the book yourself. I think it's going to happen all over again. I was almost in tears at the end, but some of parts made me laugh. I think it's a good book. My favorite part is when Ricky saved Kitty's life.

Dog BooksNew! Abi, age 9, Idaho USA

I liked this book in two ways, sad & happy. It made me crack up & I balled at at the end. I should try to read more Bill Wallace books. I liked how Kitty was really loyal to save Ricky from the dogs. I think Ricky was really lucky to have a dog like Kitty. Also my favorite part was when the cat ran up Mama's dress.THAT WAS FUNNY!

StarDog BooksNew! Alexis, age 9, Idaho USA

I really liked the book because there was a funny part and there was a sad part. The funny part was Kitty ate a hot pepper to learn his lessen, but he didn't know it was hot so... he ate it and he started running around and Ricky's Mom brought out a bucket of water. He drank the whole bucket of water and he drank it in 30 minutes and the sad part was when he didn't feed Kitty and made him starve and probably showed his ribs, I am thinking.

StarDog BooksNew! Tristan, age 9, Idaho USA

The book was really great! I loved the book a lot because I love sad books. I thought it was funny when Kitty ate the hot peppers in the meat so he wouldn't die, too! It was also funny when Chuckie kicked his dad, too! And when Kitty comes running when mother calls for the kittens, too! Mostly everything was good!

But it was sad when Ricky let the dog starve. And it was sad when the dog got crushed by the pipes. I like the end because he finds another starved dog and feeds him, though. But still it was a great book! I hope you make other good books so I can read them! Bill Wallace is a great author! Have a great time!

Dog BooksNew! Domonic, age 8, Idaho USA

I liked A Dog Called Kitty because I liked where Ricky finally keeps Kitty, when Ricky helped him, when the strange dogs got him, but I felt sad when Kitty (oops, you'll have to read the ending yourself) because I love dogs and collect stuffed animals and I just wanted to cry. And Bill Wallace is a great author.

Dog BooksNew! John, age 9, Idaho USA

I really liked the book, but the bad part was when Kitty (oops, you'll have to read the ending yourself) and those men shoot of paid attention. And I still like the ending because he finds another dog.

starDog BooksNew! Maddie, age 8, Idaho USA

I liked your book so so so much, but I almost cried when I heard about Kitty's (oops, you'll have to read the ending yourself). It had so much rich language. I was amazed! I really, really loved it. I want to read it a million times. I bet I will also you showed a lot of emotion. Here is some rich language: He fell to the ground with his... well if you want anymore, read the book. My favorite part was the dog fight because Kitty won. PS I am reading another book by you called Trapped In Death Cave so keep on writing. Thank you for the book.

Dog BooksNew! Andrew, age 9, Idaho USA

I liked the book, because Ricky was scared of dogs because he got bit by a dog . One day when Ricky was going to play football, he saw a dog and ran. The next month he started feeding it. I did not like this part where there was too much rich language. But the rest was good!

starDog BooksNew! Jacob, age 9 , Idaho USA

I did not like the book and I did. The parts I didn't like: the part when they made Kitty starve. If I was in that situation I would help him and contact a pet shelter (immediately). I also didn't like the amount of rich language because there was only one piece.

But the parts I did like were when Ricky got in a fight with Sammy and he told his dog to "sick 'em". That was funny and sad for Ricky. I also liked the part when Ricky fed Kitty peppers so he would learn his lesson about eating other people's food, but last, my favorite part when Kitty peed on the meat. If I had to rate 1 out of 10 I would rate it a 5.

Dog BooksNew! Jacob, age 8, Idaho USA

I liked the story because it had a lot of feelings and the important thing was when Ricky found a dog. I thought it was the best book because the author made a lot of expression in it to make the book more fun. Why I liked it is because it had a lot of things that hooked me and made me want to read more!

Dog BooksNew! Lilian, age 8, Idaho USA

I recommend this book, A Dog Called Kitty. I think it was funny when Kitty ate the peppers. The end made me cry even though I don't like DOGS. I didn't like when Kitty got in a fight for his life. I wonder if Ricky kept the second pup. Is there a second book?

Dog BooksNew! David, age 9, Idaho USA

I did not like the rich language. I liked when fights and the funny parts come. I liked the part were Kitty sniffed the meat and then lifted his leg and peed on it.

starDog BooksNew! Fabio, age 9, Idaho USA

I liked the part when Ricky helped the dog from starving. I didn't like when Ricky and Kitty got attacked from those dogs. I liked this book, because I was scared of dogs (until I read this book). This book told me that dogs mean something and they aren't scary. So I know when I see a stray dog I am not going to shoo it away. Keep writing Bill Wallace, you are the best!

Dog BooksNew! Shandeigh, age 9, Idaho USA

1. No, because it made me sad. 2. Because something happened to Kitty in VAIN. I didn't like the pipes. 3. I liked when another dog like Kitty came.

Dog BooksNew! Caleb, age 9, Idaho USA

I did not like the book called A Dog Called Kitty because it was sad. A boy named Ricky was not nice to the dog named Kitty. Ricky was mean to the dog, but the dog was nice to him. A part I liked was a boy named Chuckie kicked his dad in the knee.

Dog BooksNew! Todd, age 9, Idaho USA

No because Kitty is the worst name for a dog. I almost fainted reading the part when Kitty gets attacked by German Shepherds. I also don't like when Kitty (oops, you'll have to read the ending yourself).

Dog BooksNew! Maddie, age 9, Idaho USA

This book is amazing. I'm not much of a reader, but this book snapped me up. I can't imagine being in Ricky's place. This book didn't just have facts about dogs, it had a beautiful story. I don't think I could think of that many descriptive words. I hope Bill Wallace will write again.

Dog BooksNew! Hayley, age 8, Idaho USA

I really think think that A DOG CALLED KITTY was a good book. It had some really sad parts, but it was good!!! I love A DOG CALLED KITTY!!!

starDog BooksNew! Julia, age 8, Idaho USA

I really liked the book A Dog Called Kitty because I feel like I am Ricky and I ask myself, will the puppy die if I don't feed it soon? And sometimes I pretend I am Kitty and ask myself, if I don't get fed really soon will I die? I really like when Ricky and Sammy get into a fight because it has lots action. When Sammy's Doberman started chasing Ricky I also got kind of scared because if a dog started chasing me, I would get scared because it might bite me. (I'm only scared if big dogs chase me.)

The only thing I don't like is that Ricky doesn't like dogs because I adore dogs and lots of other animals. In some parts Bill Wallace just makes me cry and he also puts in many great adjectives like it 'hurt as bad as fire'. I am also sure that Bill Wallace's other books are really good .And I am also looking forward to read another of his books.

Dog BooksNew! Liana, age 9, Idaho USA

I liked the book except the ending. It was very sad. I liked this book because it was very fun. I did not like the ending because Kitty (oops, you'll have to read the ending yourself). This is my favorite book.

Dog BooksNew! Alexis, age 9, Idaho USA

I love, love, love the book ''A Dog Called Kitty.'' It is never boring and it brought tears to my eyes when Ricky was going to let the dog starve. I am just about to get a dog of my own so reading this book and finding out I am getting a dog this month has been filled with dogs. I didn't want to put it down. I love the part when he feeds the dog instead of letting it starve.

Dog BooksNew! Bryson, age 9, Idaho USA

No, Kitty isn't the best name for a dog. That's some advice. When Ricky didn't feed Kitty, I didn't like that. Dogs are cool. I have a min-pin with a beagle head.

Dog BooksNew! Rebekkeh, age 9, Idaho USA

I loved the book! But not dogs! I liked it because like things that have blood and flesh. I like the part where Kitty and Ricky get in a fight with the German shepherds. I don't like it when Kitty was starving! Bill didn't use rich language. I hope Bill Wallace does more.

I think it was really stupid. The boy is afraid of dogs. He's pathetic! I think he should get over himself and be a man. It's a dog! You are a human. Now let's think who is bigger, him by starving him to death. Not only is he pathetic, he is a big fat baby. He stood on a bucket in a barn for who knows how long, because he was afraid of a foot long puppy. I know one thing, that dog must be really stupid for putting his life into that pathetic boy's arms.

Dog BooksNew! Zoe, age 14, Idaho USA

I loved this book! I couldn't even put it down! I love all the excitement in it. I love the part when the dogs attack them because there are so many questions you could ask, and tons of action. Every second of spare time I had I picked it back up again and each time SOMEBODY got annoyed.

This book was sad how it started to end but then it cheers you up a little. Then you can't stop thinking about it. It gets stuck in your mind. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes dogs (or is a boy)... HA! Anyway, this book ROCKED. Thank you, your honest friend, Zoe

I loved this book. I think that it's a great book for young children to read. It might be a challenge for them, but I thought it was great. I didn't really like the ending, though, because it was very sad.

Yes! I enjoyed it very much because it glued me to the pages and almost automatically I didn't put it down. I think that it is funny and that a lot of the parts are sad, The best part about that is that when you put the book down, the suspense builds. My favorite part would be when Kitty is fighting to save the calf and Ricky. I loved this book so much that I did a book recommendation on it. It was so fun to read!

Dog BooksJon, age 8, Florida USA

Yes, I love this book so much! Because I really get in to it, because it is funny, in some parts entertaining, and a it's a really cool book! All though I am still reading this book but, my favorite part so far is when he jumps up on the car.

Star!Dog BooksHayden, age 9, Texas USA

I liked this book very much. I might read it again. I liked it because you learn to face your fears and not let them control you. You learn to have the courage to do things that scare you, because if you let your fears run your life you cannot do all things. I thought it was funny when kitty found the coyote getter and peed on it. I did not like it when Kitty...(oops, you'll have to read it yourself!) .

Star!Dog BooksSydney, age 8, Connecticut USA

I think the book was great! I wished it never ended. I think the book was important because a boy learned to love dogs. I liked when Ricky gave the dog some food. I think Bill Wallace books are the best books in the world.

Dog BooksCassidy, age 13, Tennessee USA

I like this book because it shows you how to face your fear. It also shows sad parts like when they get attacked by the dogs and it also has some comedy parts like when Kitty ate the meat with the chili peppers in it. That teaches a lesson about don't eat something you not familiar with or if someone offers it. Its a good book that I love.

Dog BooksTay Tay, age 14, Tennessee

I loved the book!! I think it is important because it shows how much you may work hard you can do it!! I hated it when the author said well when the dog was attacked by that pack of dogs!!!! Then when it said he ...(oops, you'll have to read it yourself!) years later I cried!!!

Dog BooksRoza, age 13, Illinois USA

I loved this book! I can't relate to Ricky that much though because I saw my dog, Jack, die and it hurt me, but I loved the book! If it were me, I wouldn't allow what happened at the end to happen. I would try to stop it. I mean gosh, imagine! Kitty was such a good dog! I haven't read it in a while, but I cried at the end, partly because I knew the book was over and I wanted it to last forever!

Summer, age 13, Louisiana USA

I really love this book! It was very interesting but also sad. I really had tears in my eyes when he let the dog starve. I really hate it when dogs get tortured because I love all dogs no matter how big or little they may be. But other than the sad parts they had some really good parts that made me smile and giggle. I think that Bill Wallace is a really great author and I am looking forward into reading more of his books!!!!

Tiah, age 18, Minnesota USA

I loved this book. Mind you, I read it when I was about seven, but I loved it all the same. I'm not really a dog fanatic, but I like animals and the storyline was endearing. I found myself reading the book over and over again until the poor cover was almost entirely worn out. Then, unfortunately, I lost my copy in a move. So, it's been awhile since the last time I read it, but I can still remember some parts. I almost cried when the author described the shots Ricky had to go through (it doesn't help that I'm absolutely terrified of needles). I loved pretty much the whole thing though.

Tanner, age 13, Louisiana USA

I liked this book. It grabbed my attention and I didn't want to put the book down. I finished it in 3 days. My favorite part was when Ricky and his friends were playing football and Ricky and his friend got into a fight.

Sarah, age 14, Oklahoma USA

I have read this book one hundred times! When I first read this book I was only six years old and I fell in love with it. The cover is falling off of it and it is so old and used. Bill Wallace is a great author and my personal favorite. His book touched me deeply. He writes so well and every time I read it I still get nervous at the part when they are in the woods with the cow and her baby. I always hope that maybe when I read it another time Kitty...(oops, you'll have to read it yourself!)! My favorite part is where they put the pepper in Kitty's meat. I crack up laughing every time the cat runs up his mom's leg!!

Madeline, age 9, Texas USA

Halloween is coming up, but the book is a special treat. It was an extremely funny book, and my teacher read it to the class. I think it is sad at the ending. It was a really cute book. My favorite part is when the cat ran up the mother's shirt. When my teacher asked what book was the most favorite book we had ever read, I chose this one. I liked every part in this really good book.

Jana, age 15, Florida USA

I loved this book because in a way I can relate to the love that the boy has for his dog Kitty. Kitty got beat up bad in a fight. The boy in this book loves his dog so much he helped in the dog fight. My dog was also in a dog fight and I helped, too. He got pretty banged up though just like Kitty. My fave part was when the dog fight happened and also when the boy reveals what happened to him when he was little. Kitty helped heal the boy's emotional scars...this is a wonderful dog book....One of the best!

Jordan, Age 13, North Carolina USA

I think this book is excellent! Bill Wallace, to me, so far is the best kids author that is around. A Dog Called Kitty is a very good book. If it were to be my decision, Bill Wallace would have gotten a Nobel Prize. The plot of the story was incredible. You could very easily picture the story in your head. I liked it when they went to the field to play football and we first found out that Ricky was afraid of dogs. He ran really fast from that dog at the field.
