Never stare into a dog's eyes. Staring is when you look directly into a dog's eyes for too long. Dogs interpret staring as a challenge and some dogs can get aggressive. Looking at your dog's eyes for a moment or two is ok if your dog is a trustworthy pet. When your dog looks at you, it helps you to feel closer to him. This will help your relationship with him and he will learn faster. |

Once your dog has truly learned "Watch me", you can take him anywhere and he will turn all of his attention to you! |
|
Never punish your dog or yell at him if he is not learning as fast as you think he should. Your puppy may be tired and need a break. He may not understand what you want. Take a break and think about what you can do the next time to have more success. Remember that your dog is not being stubborn, he's just learning. |
