The ways to socialize a dog are almost endless. Wherever I take Bonnie, she experiences new things. The more things she encounters, the more comfortable she'll be in new situations in the future. Recently I took Bonnie down to the business area of our neighborhood. We walked by stores, parking lots, and lots of cars. We saw a few people, but mostly Bonnie was seeing new things. She was getting the sights and sounds of the neighborhood. She was able to take in the fresh morning smells from local restaurants. Her paws walked on lots of different surfaces. Plus, the activity tired her out so that she had a nice, long nap when we got home. Sometimes that's the best part of an outing...the tired-out puppy. |
